“Woman literally illustrates the ongoing life pattern of how energy becomes matter through pregnancy, labor and delivery.” — Caroline Myss

Most complaints in preganancy are diet related. It is our duty as midwives to help provide information to our clients to encourage them make the best decisions for themselves and their health. This is done in a respectful and understanding manner, giving women information to empower themselves and make good nutritional choices.

Herbal medicine is a natural and powerful way to give our bodies what they need during the childbearing cycle. Teas, tinctures, and homeopathic remedies encourage self-healing in our bodies on both subtle and profound levels. I enjoy cultivating and preparing herbs for medicinal use. Efficacy and safety of herbs is addressed during the course of care, and tailored to the client’s individual needs.

Acupressure is an ancient healing modality from China that traces energy patterns in the body, and uses acupucture pressure points to release blockages, and encourage the movement of energy, or Qi. As a certified acupressure practicioner, I share information about self-acupressure and am available for private sessions, as well. Acupressure can be very helpful for tension, headaches, nausea, intestinal discomfort, emotional blockages, and many other complaints/discomforts. Acupressure points can help facilitate labor, ease pain, and aid in breastfeeding. Babies also respond well to acupressure’s gentle touch.
