On Thursday, October 2, another crossword puzzle I constructed will run in the LA Times plus all the places its syndicated (there doesn’t seem to be a list, but I know the San Francisco Chronicle and one of the Denver paper runs it). And, of course, I’ll put up a version for download on that date as well. So look for it, and happy solving!
The Colorado/New York/New Jersey Trip
We’re back from our whirlwind tour of the country. Or, to be more precise, Denver (bar mitzvah), New York City (friends), and parts of New Jersey (Amy’s grandparents and aunts and uncles). It’s good to be back. Although I brough my D40, I never even turned it on. So, you’ll have to settle for pictures taken with the point-and-shoot camera and the iPhone (plus side: I took a few photos from my window seat on some of the flights).
The Brandon and Sydney Video
Here’s a little video I put together.
The First Niece Visit
Since our flight back from Hawaii was to LA, we decided to stay for a day to see Sydney (and Brandon) before driving back to SF in a rented PT Cruiser on Saturday. I took a bunch of pictures as well as some videos that I’ll post later.
The Kauai Vacation
Got back from Hawaii yesterday (via LA—more on that later) and had a chance to capture and upload a bunch of pictures from the trip. My D40 stopped working early on, so these are a mix of those, my point-and-shoot camera, and a bunch from a hike using my iPhone.
The Wife’s 32nd Birthday
Amy turned 32 years young yesterday, and we celebrated with much ice cream and cake. I wonder who wrote her name so skillfully in icing…you can see all the pictures here.
The Once-Again-Mobile Cat
Today Molly had her stitches removed and, perhaps more importantly, the OK to get rid of her e-collar. She was also able to roam freely while we were at work, and even go outside in the backyard with me in the afternoon. I’m sure she’s just happy not to be locked up in the (very, very hot) bedroom upstairs.

The Three-Legged Cat
Molly underwent successful surgery yesterday to remove a fibrosarcoma tumor (and with it, her right hind leg). She’s pretty active already and went right for the food at home, so those are good signs. And she doesn’t look half as bad as I was expecting. I’ll hold off on pictures for now…
The New Niece
On 4/1/08 (yes, an April Fools baby) my brother and sister-in-law welcomed Sydney Eden Seff into the world. I believe she was 20 inches long and 7 pounds and some-odd ounces. Can’t say she looks like either of them yet, but considering that the pictures were taken only a few hours after birth, I guess that’s understandable. Looking forward to meeting her soon.

The 2-Year-Old Nephew
Amy and I were in LA for Brandon’s 2nd birthday on March 9. In addition to pictures from the weekend, here’s a little video of him enjoying the new play structure in the backyard.
